RESOLUTION NO. 2013-006 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PUBLIC <br />POWER AUTHORITY AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE <br />DIRECTOR TO DESTROY CERTAIN RECORDS HAVING <br />NO HISTORICAL VALUE AND THAT ARE NO LONGER <br />NEEDED IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE AFFAIRS OF <br />THE AUTHORITY. <br />WHEREAS, the Southern California Public Power Authority ("the Authority") <br />owns interests in various generation and transmission projects, the output of which has <br />been sold to Members of the Authority (Members), and in addition offers other services <br />and programs to Members; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority maintains records in the normal course of business in <br />its offices and keeps older records in storage; and <br />WHEREAS, certain records that were kept in storage prior to the recent <br />relocation of the Authority's office to Glendora have been examined by staff to <br />determine which should continue to be kept and which have no historical or <br />administrative value and therefore should be destroyed <br />WHEREAS, Government Code sec. 34090 et seq., applicable to the Authority by <br />virtue of Government Code sec. 6509, provides in general that records no longer <br />required more than two years old, with exceptions, may be authorized for destruction by <br />an agency's legislative body and with the written approval of its legal counsel; and <br />WHEREAS, those records shown on the attached Exhibit A, have been reviewed <br />and determined to hold no administrative or historical value; and <br />WHEREAS, the records shown on Exhibit A all date back to the 1980's and <br />1990's, and their destruction is permitted under Government Code sec. 34090 et seq.; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority's General Counsel has provided written consent to the <br />destruction of the records as indicated on Exhibit A, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the <br />Authority as follows: <br />1. The records heretofore identified have no historical or administrative value and <br />thus are no longer required; and <br />2. The Authority's General Counsel has given written consent to the destruction of <br />such records, and the destruction of those records is hereby authorized; and <br />
